Sarah Darrington, L.M.S.W.
Sarah Darrington
is a Licensed Masters level Social Worker (LMSW). She received
her Masters of Social Work degree, graduating Summa com laude,
from Wichita State University and a Bachelors of Arts degree,
graduating Magna cum laude, from University of
Wisconsin—Milwaukee.
Sarah has worked
in the mental health field for over ten years with individuals
of all ages. She worked as a case manager for children and
adults at a community mental health center, specializing in
working with adolescents with histories of emotional, physical,
and sexual abuse. She has also worked with in a homeless
shelter with adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental
illnesses. Currently, in addition to private practice, Sarah is
employed as a Mental Health Specialist, providing therapeutic
services, clinical assessments, and consultation for families
and childcare providers of children ages 0 – 5 who are
exhibiting challenging behaviors or having emotional
difficulties.
Sarah has
experience in providing services to individuals with
depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, interpersonal
challenges, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, to children with
behavioral challenges at home and school or daycare, and to
parents wanting assistance with parenting skills and managing
parental stress. She has additional training in play therapy,
positive behavior support, Cognitive therapy, trauma, and
Eating disorders.
Sarah has
experience in working with clients from different backgrounds,
cultures, and religions; she is a Christian with a strong faith
in God and strongly values counseling from a Christian
perspective. She is passionate about mental health and helping
children, adolescents, adults, and families succeed in reaching
their personal goals.
