LaMonica Williams is a
Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW), she received her Associate of Arts degree from Butler County
Community College in 1999, her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in 2000 and her Master’s in Social Work at Newman
University in 2002 through their advanced standing program.
Currently, she is pursuing her doctorate degree at the Institute for Clinical Social Work (ICSW) based in
Chicago, Illinois. She has selected the psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Concentration track as her Doctoral Specialization at this institution.
LaMonica has extensive
training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Christian Counseling
LaMonica’s perspective
toward her work is more than just a career, but rather a calling on her life that she became well aware of and
answered at a very tender age. Out of this call her personal
mission statement was birthed, which is to live a life of wholeness in abundance and to bring healing,
restoration and inspiration to others. LaMonica fulfills her
personal mission statement through many different modalities but particularly thoroughly enjoys the vehicle of
Christian Counseling. She embraces and works with clients of all faiths in a non-judgmental
manner.
Experience
LaMonica has extensive
experience working with the adult population with severe and persistent mental illnesses (SPMI), and who often
times presented with co-occurring disorders. She has also provided
in-home family based therapy services to children, adolescents and their families. LaMonica has worked in a Juvenile psychiatric residential treatment facility
(PRTF) proving psychotherapy services to children and adolescents. She has experience in but not limited to
treating grief and loss, depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, marital discord, blended family issues, sexual
abuse, domestic violence, stress management as well as helping individual’s find balance in their everyday
lives.
LaMonica is also
experienced in public speaking and has spoken at various agencies in the Sedgwick County community on various
topics surrounding wholeness and taking better care of one self, both to the adolescent and adult
population. She has also spoken to students in the Master’s of
Social Work program at Newman University in an attempt to both offer applicable suggestions for the successful
completion of the licensure examination as well as provide motivation and inspiration.
